Poster for an artists event at Hardware Lane, Melbourne
Three colour screen print
76 x 51 centimeters
The run down warehouses in central Melbourne provided cheap artists studio spaces in the 1980's and inevitably also proved to be good locations for parties, performance and music. The event advertised by this poster was a Parole Meeting which was one of the irregular art evenings held at various venues, in this case at a studio I shared. The poster had a life after the event when one of the bands playing that evening recycled it for their gigs on several occasions. The moonfaced man staring out of the poster has no special significance but has a haunting presence that stood out from walls covered with other bands' publicity.
